Story
It was one of those evenings where nothing much was planned. The kind where you just step outside for a while without expecting anything special. The air was quiet and still, and the city felt slower than usual. Someone mentioned the possibility of northern lights, but it did not feel certain enough to build the whole night around it.
At first there was nothing. Just a dark sky and a few scattered stars. Then slowly, almost without noticing, a faint green line started to appear. It was not bright or dramatic, just a soft movement stretching across the sky. We stood there for a while watching it grow and fade, not really saying much. It came and went in waves, sometimes stronger, sometimes barely visible, like it was deciding whether to stay.
What made it memorable was how normal everything else felt. No big moment, no crowd, no noise. Just a quiet night, a bit of patience, and something unexpected happening above us. After a while it slowly disappeared, and the sky returned to how it was before. We headed back without making a big deal out of it, but it stayed in mind longer than most planned days.
