Cycling to Kiiminki from Oulu

This ride started as an easy evening plan with a friend: leave Oulu, follow the route through Jääli toward Kiiminki, and keep the pace steady enough to enjoy the road instead of chasing numbers. We left around 3 PM, with summer light still stretching far into the evening and the weather making the whole route feel relaxed. The ride to Kiiminki took about two hours, moving through quiet roads, green edges, and the kind of calm scenery that makes a longer ride feel lighter.

At Koitelinkoski, we stopped for around 40 minutes, took in the river scenery, and had a beer before heading back. The return ride took another two hours, and we reached Oulu around 8 PM with enough daylight still left to make the finish feel calm rather than rushed. It was not about speed or performance; it was a simple summer ride with good company, steady distance, and a route worth repeating.
