Story
This was one of those slow weekend bakes where the kitchen gradually turns into a small project space. I followed the idea of a classic coffee cake from Preppy Kitchen, but kept the journal here simple instead of writing out the full recipe. The cake came together with brown sugar, coffee, heavy cream, butter, vanilla, flour, salt, milk, baking powder, and eggs. I finished it with roasted cashews on top, which gave the cake a little crunch and made it look more complete.
The whole process took around four hours from preparing everything to baking, cooling, and getting it ready to share. The best part was not just making the cake, but sharing it afterwards with friends and neighbours. Everyone liked it and rated it highly, which made the long baking time feel completely worth it. It was simple, warm, and exactly the kind of thing I want to keep making more often.
